Tales from the Trenches: Best & Worst Job Stories
Once upon a time, at a house of pancakes that shall remain nameless, I invested 8 hours of my life into being a hostess. I should really preface this story by emphasizing how much I hate, excuse me-DESPISE, oranges/orange juice or any member of the citrus family. Don’t ask—I just do—they make me nauseous, always have—always will. Well, imagine my shock/horror when I walked in and was immediately strapped to a tray full of glasses, filled to the rims with none other than orange juice. I was dubbed “juice girl” and commanded to walk from table to table, toting my juice. As it splashed up on my arms, I shed a tear and decided that was the end of my breakfast hosting career. Don’t let this happen to you—explore, investigate, evaluate your job opportunities! And don’t let me catch you crying into your o.j…that’s just sad…
